LAS VEGAS - Metro Police confirm that one person has died in a shooting on West Sahara Avenue near I-15.
According to police, the 23-year-old woman was shot in the chest at a 7-Eleven near the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
"When police officers arrived, she was still inside the vehicle, some people, some witnesses that came over, actually took her out of the vehicle and tried to render some life-saving techniques. Medical personnel arrived and transported her from there," Metro homicide Sgt. Matthew Sanford said.
Police say the suspect never got out of the car, but shot the victim through the car's windshield.
Police are using surveillance video from the gas station to try to figure out who the killer is. All that detectives have as a lead is a black Nissan vehicle with Nevada license plates.
Witnesses didn't get a look at the license plate itself and the car was last seen heading west away from the Strip on Sahara Avenue.
