One Dead in U.S. 95-Horizon Wreck

LAS VEGAS -- One person is dead after three vehicles wrecked on southbound U.S. 95 near Horizon Drive Thursday afternoon, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Loy Hixson said.

Hixson said a pickup truck traveling south on U.S. 95 struck a tow truck that was parked on the side assisting another vehicle.

The female driver of the pickup truck died at the scene. It is unknown why the driver ran into the tow truck.

Southbound traffic is being diverted off the Horizon Drive ramp, Hixson said. It's not yet known if there are other injuries.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
