One dead, two injured in rollover crash on US 95

LAS VEGAS - A man died and his wife and daughter were badly hurt following a rollover crash early Friday morning, according to investigators.

The crash happened around 5:00 a.m. on southbound US 95 near the Snow Mountain exit.

Investigators believe the man driving fell asleep at the wheel. The car began to drift and when he woke up, he overcorrected and flipped the 2005 Ford Explorer, said trooper Jason Buratczuk, Nevada Highway Patrol.

The driver died at the scene. The woman in the passenger seat, believed to be his wife, was airlifted to UMC with serious injuries. She is expected to survive, Buratczuk said.

Both the man and woman were wearing seatbelts. The 15-year-old girl in the back seat was unrestrained and ejected from the SUV. She suffered critical injuries, according to investigators.

This is the fourth fatal crash investigation for NHP or 2018. All lanes are now back open.
