One killed in shooting at condos in south valley

LAS VEGAS - Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was gunned down in an underground garage at a condominium complex Sunday morning, according to police.

The shooting happened in the area of Serene Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. Residents at the complex called police after hearing gunshots around 7:00 a.m.

When security guards investigated, they found a man shot several times in an underground parking garage. They performed CPR on the man, but were unsuccessful in reviving him, said Lt. Dan McGrath, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Medical responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators they saw two black men run from the parking garage, jump a fence to Las Vegas Boulevard and get in a black car, McGrath said.

McGrath added it looks like the shooters targeted the victim and it does not appear to be robbery related.

Due to the victim's tattoos, detectives think the shooting may be gang-related. There's also a possibility it could be related to prostitution pandering.

Detectives are in the process of reviewing security camera recordings from around the complex.

The suspects are described as black men. One is heavy set wearing a red hoodie, and the other is thinner wearing a blue or grey hoodie, according to police.

The victim was a black man between 25 and 30 years old.
