Passenger Killed in Strip Shooting, Crash ID'd

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the third person killed in Thursday's early morning shooting and crash on the Las Vegas Strip.

Sandra Sutton-Wasmund, 48, of Maple Valley, Wash., was a passenger in the taxi cab that exploded into flames when it was hit by a Maserati that sped through a red light on Las Vegas Boulevard at Flamingo Road.

Sutton-Wasmund died of multiple blunt force injuries, the medical examiner said.

The driver of the Maserati, identified as Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr., 27, of Las Vegas, had been shot by gunmen in a Range Rover and died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The driver of the cab, Michael Boldon, 62, of Las Vegas, died of multiple blunt force injuries.

The gunmen remain at-large. A Metro Police spokesman said Friday night that detectives are following up on tips and interviewing witnesses.
