Pedestrian killed in crash on Boulder Hwy near Russell

LAS VEGAS - Police say an 89-year-old man is dead after attempting to cross Boulder Highway at Desert Horizons Drive. 

The collision happened just before 9:00 a.m. A 76-year-old driver of a 2006 Acura TL struck the pedestrian who was crossing the road, according to Lt. Carlos Hank, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Medical responders rushed the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital where the pedestrian died, Lt. Hank said. 

This is the 79th fatal traffic incident in LVMPD's jurisdiction of 2017. The crash remains under investigation.
