Pedestrian struck by cab on the Strip

LAS VEGAS — A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a cab along Las Vegas Boulevard Friday morning.

According to Metro Police, the pedestrian had jumped over a four-foot barricade wall separating the north sidewalk of Tropicana Avenue from the Strip. The young man was crossing the street, outside a crosswalk, and was hit by the cab at around 2 a.m.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. Police are still trying identify the victim, anyone with information about his identity is asked to call police at (702) 828-3786.

The driver of the cab and the cab's passenger was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
