Plane crashes near Ann and U.S. 95; 2 people hurt

LAS VEGAS - The FAA is investigating a small plane crash near W. Ann Road and U.S. 95. 

According to McCarran Airport, there were reports of engine failure before the plane went down around 5:45 p.m. The plane was on its final approach to the North Las Vegas airport when the pilot reported that the aircraft had lost its number one engine. 

Officials at a Las Vegas fire station across the street on the other side of the US-95 overpass and arrived within a few minutes to meet the occupants of the aircraft, both occupants were taken to University Medical Center Trauma.

The plane landed in a body of water at the Painted Desert Golf Course.

Two people suffered minor injuries.
