Police: 1 dead in motorcycle crash

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Thursday evening as Miguel Romero, 22 of Las Vegas.

His cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner was ruled accidental.

The fatal crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Thursday at South Eastern Avenue and East Oquendo Road. Police said a car hit Romero. He was taken to University Medical Center Trauma and pronounced dead by medical personnel.

The car remained on scene and it is believed speeding is to blame for the crash, according to police.

This is the 40th fatal crash in Metro's jurisdiction in 2014.
