Police arrest man accused of killing pregnant woman and leaving body in abandoned building

LAS VEGAS - The name and mug of the man accused of killing a pregnant woman has been released.

Salvador Gonzalez was arrested on Dec. 28.

Police said on Dec. 26 they found the pregnant woman's body in an abandoned building in the 3900 block of Silver Dollar Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

Officers said the woman looked like she had died from possible strangulation. Investigators say the apartment was vacant and undergoing renovation.

Metro said a contractor, who had been working on the apartment since that morning, came out of a side room in the afternoon and saw a man standing in the hallway.

Metro said the contractor told them the man, later identified as Gonzalez, left the apartment as soon as he saw the contractor.  Moments later, the contractor found the woman's body and called the police.

Homicide detectives said the woman was seen entering the apartment with a man about 45 minutes before her death.
