Police arrest man accused of slashing woman's throat

LAS VEGAS - Police arrested a man accused of violently attacking a woman on Thursday.

The attacked happened around 4:00 a.m. on August 10 in the area of Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman with a laceration to the neck, according to investigators with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Medical responders rushed her to Sunrise Trauma Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Detectives arrested 27-year-old Willie Jackson on August 11. He's charged with attempted murder, according to police.

Investigators with the LVMPD Technical and Surveillance Section, Sexual Assault Section, and the Criminal Apprehension Team all took part in the case. 

The Criminal Apprehension Team is a Federal Bureau of Investigation led, multi-jurisdictional task force staffed in the LVMPD’s Major Violators Bureau.

It is comprised of the FBI, LVMPD, Henderson, and North Las Vegas Police Departments.
