Police arrest suspect in Friday's deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS - Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting and killing another man late Friday night in North Las Vegas.

The shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. on the 3700 block of Reseda Circle which is near Pecos Road and Carey Avenue. 

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 24-year-old Hispanic man shot in the stomach, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department. The victim died at the hospital. 

Investigators originally thought the shooting was accidental, but later determined it to be a homicide. 

Police arrested 25-year-old Mauricio Miranda who was reported to be with the victim prior to the shooting. 

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the victim.
