HENDERSON, Nev. -- Metro Police officers busted another grow house at the 2700 block of Pinewood Avenue, near Robindale Road and Pecos Road in Henderson.

Police arrested Steve Prue, 36. Metro narcotics officers said a tip from the public lead them to the home.

After a few days of surveillance, police made their move and found 153 plants and 20 pounds of marijuana ready for sale.

The house is five houses down from a school.

"We act upon every tip that we get. It makes us feel good that we are getting a steady amount of tips every night," Lt. Laz Chavez of Metro Police said. "We have a lot of children that walk by this house to go to and from the school, and that just goes to show the disregard that these criminals that put together these grow houses."

Police said the house posed a danger to the residents living near by and to a school just a half block away.

Investigators served another warrant in this case at a nearby storage facility. Police believe it could be another location where pot was being kept.

"I just wish that we can continue to get these tips and shut these down and send the message out there to these criminals that we are going to locate you. We are going to arrest you, and you are going to face the justice system here in Las Vegas," Chavez said.

This is the 109th grow operation busted by the Las Vegas Metro Drug Task Force this year.
