Police: Game of dice led to deadly shooting

LAS VEGAS -- The woman accused of gunning down a Las Vegas man on Aug. 6 has been arrested, according to Metro Police.

Police tell 8 News NOW that 21-year-old Anishya Douglas was arrested in Ogden, Utah Wednesday. She is awaiting extradition back to Nevada.

Douglas is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Christopher Dewayne Jones, Jr. at an apartment near Owens Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

Police believe the pair were fighting over money and a game of dice the day before the shooting. According to the arrest report, one witness said Jones accused Douglas of cheating, beat her and took $80 out of  her pocket.

On the day of the shooting, detectives believe Douglas came to Jones' apartment to confront him. The fight escalated and Douglas pulled out a handgun shooting Jones several times, police said.

Douglas ran from the scene.
