Police investigate shots fired near Charleston, Torrey Pines

LAS VEGAS - Police have detained a few people as they continue to investigate shots fired near Charleston Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive. 

According to police, officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the 6500 block of Bannock Way just after 8 a.m. when they heard several shots in the area.

Metro sent several police units to the area and evacuated some nearby homes as they investigated where the shooting. The police did find shell casings and detain two people for questioning. No one was injured.

Warren Elementary and Bonanza High Schools were on lockdown for about three hours.
