Police Killer's Gun Being Auctioned in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- A local pawn shop is auctioning off a gun that belonged to the ex-LAPD police officer that led California authorities on the state's largest manhunt.

In February, Christopher Dorner went on a rampage that left four people dead, including two police officers.

Before that rampage, Dorner, who had owned a home in Las Vegas, sold a gun to a local pawn shop dealer.

The sale took place at Bargain Pawn Shop in North Las Vegas in January. The shop is now auctioning off the gun in hopes it will bring in lots of money. So far, the high bid is more than $400.

"it's a .38 Special revolver, which is one of the most popular calibers," said George Bramlett, the owner of Bargain Pawn.

"It's going to be an oddity forever, it's going to go down in history books," said Kevin Stoltenberg, who is a gun owner and customer.

"It's definitely weird, yeah, very strange," said Michael Mich'l.

While some see the gun as a possible collector's item, others see it much differently.

"To me it's revolting. Why would somebody want to own a killer's gun?" Melinda Parschall said.

Dorner's shooting rampage took place three weeks after he walked into Bramlett's store to sell the gun.

"He was real nice and professional when he was in here with us," Bramlett said. "

Dorner received $50 for the .38 Special Astra

"I guess he just needed money," Bramlett said.

When Bramlett realized Dorner was the same person who sold him the gun, he decided to try and turn something bad into something good.

"We want the money to go to the survivors of the people that were killed by him," he said.

The 25-year business owner thinks it's the least he can do.
