Police say it appears that a man whose body was found in a desert lot several miles south of the Las Vegas Strip was killed somewhere else.

Las Vegas police say the man was in his 20s or 30s, and was wearing dark clothing when he was found a little before 8 a.m. Tuesday at a lot off Gillespie Street, not far from South Las Vegas Boulevard and St. Rose Parkway.

The Clark County coroner didn't immediately identify the man or release a cause and manner of death, pending notification of his family.

Police didn't say how it appeared the man died, but said his death appeared to have been a homicide.
