Police: Man wanted for shooting Venetian employees at company picnic

LAS VEGAS - A man is on the run after, police say, he shot co-workers at a picnic party for Venetian employees.

The shooting happened Sunday at Sunset Park. A woman in her 50's was killed and a man, also in his 50's, is in the hospital in critical condition, police said. One of them is an executive for the hotel property.

Police say the suspected killer is 42-year-old Anthony Wrobel, also an employee who worked for the company 14 years. His car, a black and purple Dodge Charger, was found in the Terminal three parking garage at McCarran International Airport after the shooting.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. when Wrobel showed up at Sunset Park with a gun and began firing at his co-workers.

"Those employees were having a picnic when the suspect arrived on the scene and walked up to the picnic where several hotel executives were at," said Metro Lt. Ray Spencer.

Police are describing the shooting as a targeted incident. Police say Wrobel should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Metro.
