Police officer killed during Oct. 1 shooting to be laid to rest

LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Charleston Hartfield who was killed at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival will be laid to rest on Friday, Oct. 20.

Hartfield was off-duty and attending the concert when he was killed on Sunday, Oct. 1.

His funeral is set to take place at Central Church at 11 a.m. His body will be taken to the church by a motorcade.

He will be laid to rest after the funeral at Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. His body will also be taken there by motorcade.

There will be a traditional rendering of the honors including a presentation of a flag to the family, the playing of Taps and bagpipes, and a flyover by the LVMPD Air Support Section.

Hartfield leaves behind a wife and two children.
