Police release surveillance from Sept. 25 homicide

Metro Police detectives have released surveillance video from a homicide Sunday morning.

Investigators responded to a parking lot of a business located on the 4200 block of South Decatur Boulevard around 6:22 a.m. Officers located an adult male lying in the front parking lot of a clothing store suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and several other people were rendering medical attention.

The male victim was transported to the University Medical Center Trauma where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The investigation indicates the victim had been inside of a clothing store after hours and in the back room of the business. It appears the victim had been in a physical fight with one or more people prior to being shot according to police.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male adult standing approximately 6 feet and weighing approximately 240 pounds. He was last seen with short hair, a small goatee and may possibly wear glasses.

One person of interest is described as a black male adult wearing a white shirt, white pants and black shoes. The other is a black female adult who was last seen wearing an all-white dress.

Detectives also seek a vehicle likely involved in this case.The car is described as a black 2004 to 2006 2-door BMW 6-series with black wheels and dark tinted windows. 

This is the 123rd homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
