Police rescue hikers hit by falling rocks

LAS VEGAS -- Two hikers were injured by falling rocks at Red Rock National Conservation Area Friday morning.

Metro Police said the incident happened around 7 a.m. as three hikers were on an overlook on White Rock trail. Metro's Search and Rescue air unit lifted the injured hikers out of the area.

One hiker suffered a moderate head injury and was transported to UMC. The other hiker suffered a moderate arm injury and was transported to Southern Hills Hospital. The third hiker was not injured.
