Police say hit-and-run driver failed sobriety test

LAS VEGAS --  The driver who ran onto a curb and hit a Clark High School student Wednesday afternoon failed a sobriety test, Metro Police said.

Ronald Martin, 61, left the scene but was arrested after police were able to track him down from his license plate. According to the arrest report, Martin's wife told police he had left their apartment drunk. When police located the vehicle and Martin in the parking lot, he drove away from police. He was later found in another part of the complex and arrested.

The teen girl was transported to University Medical Center with a broken leg. Martin is facing charges of DUI with substantial bodily harm and felony hit and run.
