Police seek clues in woman found dead in street

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police are asking for help from the public to identify and locate a man in connection with a woman who was found dead in the street Saturday morning. The Clark County Coroner's office has identified the woman as Maricela Faurrieta Suarez, 34, of Las Vegas.

Suarez's body was discovered around 5:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Fairchild Street, near Washington Avenue. She died from a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner said.

According to police, Suarez had gone out Friday night with her boyfriend. Police say he is the man in a picture with the victim. Detectives are asking for information about what Suarez and the unidentified man were doing Friday night into the early morning hours of Saturday. They are also looking for information on the person who took the picture.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide. Police say the woman may have been killed at another location and then left on the street.
