Police seek information in deadly hit-and-run

LAS VEGAS -- North Las Vegas Police are seeking information on a crash that left a 63-year-old man dead.

The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man as William Edward Mazzoccoli of Las Vegas. His body was found around 5:22 a.m. on Aug. 16 lying on the roadway at North Las Vegas Boulevard and East Carey Avenue.

The preliminary investigation shows Mazzoccoli was struck while crossing the street outside of a crosswalk, police said.

Police are working to identify the driver of the vehicle involved. They say evidence indicates the car was a silver 1999 to 2003 Mitsubishi Galant, which may now be missing a passenger side view mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Las Vegas Police Department at (702)633-9111 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702)385-5555.
