Power restored to over 5,000 homes

LAS VEGAS -- NV Energy says all of the power has bee restored to the areas that went black earlier Wednesday Night.  The company reported that there were two separate outages affecting the northwest area of Las Vegas. The outages happened along the corridor of Jones Boulevard.

The area of N. Jones Blvd. and Washington Avenue had 2,519 customers without power, while, N. Jones Blvd. and W. Tropical Parkway had 1,369 customers affected.

NV Energy said both outages happened within minutes of each other. The one at Jones and Tropical happened at 8:45 p.m., while the outage at Jones and Washington happened at 9 p.m.

The cause of the outage hasn't been released.
