Prescription drug abuse continues to be a serious issue that is putting many young lives at risk around the valley. Clark County School District Police partnered up with community agencies to tackle the issue Saturday afternoon.
School police collected hundreds of pounds of prescription drugs turned in from people who no longer use the medication. Police say teens might not always know the real risks of prescription medications looking to get high as authorities urge folks to keep pills out of the wrong hands.
With the help of Care Coalition, officials worked to educate folks about the importance of securing their medication pills at Palo Verde High School.
