Prisoner escapes from Muri Stein Hospital

LAS VEGAS - Metro Police and the Nevada Department of Corrections are looking for a suspect that escaped Monday night.

Authorities say 51-year-old Jay Cantrell escaped custody at the Muri Stein Hospital around 7:30 p.m. and was serving an eight to ten year prison sentence on grand larcey charges. He had been at the secure facility since mid-March.

Cantrell was able to escape by busting out a window and has a clown tattoo with jail bars on the left shoulder, according to authorities. He was also seen wearing a black Adidas shirt and white stripes.
