Rally, parade planned for Mountain Ridge Little League

LAS VEGAS -- The Mountain Ridge Little League All-Star team may not have won the U.S. championship game of the Little League World Series, but they did what what no other Las Vegas team has ever done.

They were the first Nevada Little League team to ever make it to a championship game. The community is proud of the team's effort and how they have represented southern Nevada. That is why the city of Las Vegas is planning a rally and parade for the team Saturday Aug. 30.

Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Councilman Steven Ross and the city council will honor the team at a ceremony starting at 9 a.m. at the City Hall Plaza.

The entire community is invited to the rally to congratulate the team and their coaches.

Following the short ceremony, the team will head down Las Vegas Boulevard to a special event at Town Square shopping center, starting at 10 a.m.

Mountain Ridge Little League is the first team from Nevada to play in the Little League World Series.
