Rep. Horsford Leaves Hospital After Heart Surgery

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Rep. Steven Horsford has been released from a Washington, D.C., hospital following heart surgery to correct what his office described as a hereditary condition.

The first-term Democratic congressman from Nevada's 4th Congressional District underwent the procedure Monday. He was released from the hospital Friday.

Horsford's office says doctors discovered his condition during a recent routine physical and told him he needed surgery.

Spokesman Tim Hogan says Horsford will remain under doctors' care for the next few weeks while recuperating at home.

Doctors say he should make a full recovery.
