Report: CCSD bus driver had compromising pictures of girl on his phone

LAS VEGAS - A Clark County School District bus driver told police he thought having sex with a student was legal because he thought she was 18, according to his arrest report.

The student was was actually 17-years-old and a high school senior.

Dominique Joiner, 24, is facing two counts of kidnapping, two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of using a minor for child pornography.

The teen rode Joiner's school bus and struck up a friendship with him. The two began communicating through a social media application called Snapchat and texting on their cell phones in March and April 2017. The communications between the two turned sexual and involved photographs, the report said.

On two occasions, Joiner picked the teen up at her home and took her to another location for sex, according to the report.

Shortly after that the communication between the two ended. The girl's mother became aware of the relationship and contacted police.

Initially, Joiner denied any relationship with a student. He told police he picked up a girl to see a movie, but they never "hooked up."

According to the arrest report, he later told police he did have sex with the teen and had saved compromising pictures of the teen on his phone.

His phone was taken as evidence and he was arrested.

Joiner is currently suspended without pay.
