Report: Soccer coach inappropriately touched player while massaging her leg at practice

LAS VEGAS - The soccer coach arrested for lewdness with a child was at practice, massaging an injury on the teen girl's leg when it happened, according to an arrest report released Wednesday.

Agustin Ramirez Rodriguez, 54, was arrested by North Las Vegas Police on May 18.  Detectives first started investigating the sexual assault of the 15-year-old girl on May 16.

According to the arrest report, the teen told Ramirez Rodriguez that her leg was hurting because she had pulled a thigh muscle, and he offered to massage her leg, so the two went into his vehicle.

While in the vehicle the coach told the teen to put her right leg over his left shoulder.  Once she did that, he started massaging her leg with an ointment.

However, Ramirez Rodriguez's hands started to wander toward her private parts where he used his thumb to rub that area over her shorts, the report said.

The girl told the coach that the pain wasn’t that high up her leg, and as she was telling him this, his wife approached the vehicle, so Ramirez Rodriguez quickly moved his hand, the report said.

Once his wife left, Ramirez Rodriguez continued to move up the teen’s leg, and he slipped his hand into her underwear, the report said.

The teen tried to block Ramirez Rodriguez’s hand as she quickly pulled her leg down.  The teen then got out of the car and started walking away.

Ramirez is expected in court on Friday.

The report said as the teen walked away from the car Ramirez Rodriguez told her that he would have to massage her two more times and that he was available Fridays and Saturdays. He also told her that he would come to where ever she was, the report said.

The teen called her mother and asked her to pick her up from the park where they were practicing.  The teen's mother told police when she arrived she noticed her daughter crying.

The teen told her mother what happened, and the mother called the police.  North Las Vegas Police reached out to Ramirez Rodriguez on May 18 and asked him to come into the police station for an interview, and he obliged, the report said.

During the interview, Ramirez Rodriguez told officers that he could have touched the girl on her private parts, but he didn’t think about doing it.  He told police it just happened.

Ramirez Rodriguez was placed under arrest and booked into the Las Vegas City Detention Center on two counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 16.

Police said Ramirez Rodriguez coached for seven independent soccer teams, so police are investigating to see if there are more victims.
