Sales expected to be strong for Cyber Monday

LAS VEGAS -- After Black Friday, there is Cyber Monday where holiday shoppers will buy presents from the comfort of their home or office.

This year, a record high 56 percent of people plan to shop online on Dec. 1 which is the most since the National Retail Federation began its surveys 13 years ago. Those people will purchase nearly half of their gifts online. The total online sales for that day is predicted to be $2.6 billion.

Mobile sales are expected to skyrocket, landing around $1.6 billion in sales on Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, according to Adobe Systems Inc. Many retailers, this year, started their online marketing during the first week of November.

Adobe's Digital Index sorted through more than 1 trillion visits to more than 4,500 retail websites to arrive at this year's prediction.
