School Board Approves Skorkowsky's Contract

LAS VEGAS -- The Clark County School Board of Trustees voted 5-0 approving the employment contract for Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky Thursday evening.

Skorkowsky, who was appointed to the Clark County School District's top job in June, will earn $260,000 annually with no bonuses.

Two trustees, Lorraine Alderman (District D) and Patrice Tew (District E) were not present for the vote.

"I am honored to have a contract in place that allows me to continue serving the students and employees of the Clark County School District," Skorkowsky said in a statement. "As Superintendent, I remain true to the phrase I used as a teacher - it really is about every student in every classroom, without exceptions, without excuses."
