Sgt. in Saudi Military Accused of Las Vegas Child Rape

LAS VEGAS -- A sergeant in the Saudi Arabian Air Force is in jail in Las Vegas accused of raping a 13-year-old boy at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on New Year's Eve.

Police arrested 23-year-old Mazen Alotaibi on charges of sexual assault of a victim under 16, lewdness with a minor under 14, coercion with force and first degree kidnapping.

Alotaibi was stationed temporarily at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas for training.

According to the criminal complaint, Alotaibi grabbed the boy and sexually assaulted him in a Circus Circus hotel room. Both the boy and Alotaibi were guests of the hotel, police said. 

Alotaibi is currently in Clark County Detention Center. His first court hearing is January 17.
