State Clients Say They Appreciate Mental Health Services

LAS VEGAS -- A majority of Nevadans who have participated in annual consumer surveys from the Nevada Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services have expressed overwhelming satisfaction with the mental health services they received.

Last year, 87 percent of respondents statewide said they were generally satisfied with the division's services, the highest percentage since the surveys began in 2004, when 89 percent expressed satisfaction. The lofty results came despite recession-related state budget cuts sustained by the agency.

Residents who used Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services on an outpatient basis gave the agency a 90 percent satisfaction rating last year. That was considerably higher than Southern Nevada inpatients, 62 percent of whom said they were satisfied.
