Student struck by car on UNLV's campus

LAS VEGAS - A UNLV student was hit by a vehicle on campus Wednesday. 

According to University Police, it happened around 5:20 p.m. at Swenson and Harmon when the vehicle jumped the sidewalk and struck a female student near the Lied Library. 

The driver caused damage to property and other vehicles as it was fleeing the area. Metro Police arrested the suspect on DUI charges in connection with the incident.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
