It's back to school day for hundreds of thousands of students in Clark County. As kids return to class, local authorities are monitoring the roads to keep children safe.
Throughout the week, police will scope out any dangerous driving behaviors in and around school zones.
Because many students walk to and from school, crossing busy intersections, drivers will see a lot of congestion near schools during the morning and afternoon hours.
The goal of the back-to-school traffic enforcement is to educate drivers about traffic laws so no one gets hurt.
Several departments have been working during the past few weeks to highlight the rules of the road, including those involving bicycles and school buses.
Police will have an increased presence near schools all week.
