Summer watering schedule starts May 1

LAS VEGAS -- The summer watering schedule, which allows daily watering, goes into effect on May 1.

Although daily watering is allowed, there are restrictions on the time of day the watering can take place and irrigation clocks should be adjusted accordingly. Sprinkler irrigation is prohibited between the hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May 1 until Oct. 1, but hand watering can be done any time of the day.

The Southern Nevada Water Authority recommends landscape watering after sunset and before sunrise to reduce evaporation. Residents are also encouraged to cut one watering day per week to conserve water and reduce their water bill.
