Super Bowl Power Outage Cause Determined

NEW ORLEANS - Entergy New Orleans, Inc. has determined the cause of the power outage that disrupted Sunday's Super Bowl for more than 30 minutes.

The utility traced the cause to an electrical relay device designed to protect Superdome equipment in the event of a mechanical failure. The device triggered Sunday, when it should not have. Entergy representatives say it has since been removed for service.
