Super Bowl related memorabilia gets attention at Pawn shop

LAS VEGAS - It promises to be a busy weekend at the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop on Las Vegas Boulevard.

There's a whole lot of bling in the glass cases and some of it's Super Bowl related.

Depending on which player it once belonged to, it's worth tens, even hundreds of thousands of dollars.

"This is pretty cool, but I've already sold it," said Rick Harrison, Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. "You can see the little sign right there, sold it to a Patriots fan. This is a flag when they won their first Super Bowl in 2002, went around and got every single player to sign it."

To any hardcore football fan, this place is like heaven.

Pawn star Rick Harrison says he recently sold the last Super Bowl ring he had, but he has a lot of other things.

An original program from the first world championship game. It cost $1 in 1967, today it's priced at $450.

A Super Bowl helmet signed by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is worth around $1,500 and an AFC championship ring pawned by a member of the Denver Broncos.

"Most people don't realize this is a loser's ring," Harrison said.

As anyone who's ever seen the show Pawn Stars knows, there's usually a story behind each item and Harrison is one of the best at offering nuggets of information.

"You get Super Bowl rings for as low as $10,000 to as much as over $100,000."

Harrison says the value of each item depends on who it once belonged to and right now, Tom Brady items are good as gold.

"Say Brady, if for some reason, his world screwed up and he had to sell one of his rings, that would go for a quarter million a piece."

Speaking of money, Harrison says something strange happens immediately after the Super Bowl.

"A lot of crazy football fans coming in for stuff, you know we're open 24 hours here so always on Sunday night it will get real busy at the pawn window cause people just knew the other team was going to win."

Thanks to the show, Pawn Stars, which has been airing on the History Channel since 2009, the Gold and Silver Pawn shop on Las Vegas Boulevard and Gass Avenue, has become a huge tourist attraction.

They get about 4,000 people checking out the store every day.
