Suspect arrested in deadly June shooting

LAS VEGAS -- Metro Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and three other people hurt.

According to police, officers arrested Kareem David Wilkes on several charges including murder, attempted murder, battery, burglary and discharging a firearm in a structure.

Wilkes is accused of shooting and killing Michael McCarthy at a home near Sahara Avenue and Mojave Road on June 20.

Witnesses told police that Wilkes had come to the home to pickup personal items, when those items were not found; he shot three of the people there, including McCarthy. A fourth person was hurt by when a shot fired by Wilkes passed through a wall and hit her, police said.
