Suspect arrested in July 3 shooting

 NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- North Las Vegas Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and a 14-year-old girl hurt.

The shooting happened at around 11 p.m. Thursday, July 3 outside a home near Commerce Street and Lone Mountain. Police arrested 18-year-old Miquan Burton in the shooting death of 18-year-old Tyrell Melton of North Las Vegas.

Police say Burton was in a car and fired a gun at a group of people, injuring the girl and killing Melton.

Burton has been arrested and booked at the Las Vegas City Jail on four felony charges, including murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
