Suspect Enters Plea in Gross Lewdness Case

LAS VEGAS -- A man accused of grabbing small children at a bus stop and attempting to remove their clothing has pleaded guilty to one count of gross lewdness.

Abdul Jumaalkam waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning. Jumaalkam was arrested in November 2012 after he grabbed two young girls at a bus stop in the area of Sirius Avenue and Castlewood Drive. Nearby parents intervened and Jumaalkam ran off. Police later arrested him in the area.

Jumaalkam has been in jail for the past two months and faces a maximum sentence of one year. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
