Suspended Judge Steven Jones Files for Re-Election

LAS VEGAS -- Steven Jones, the embattled family court judge, filed for re-election Tuesday, according to Clark County election records.

Last month, Jones was found to have violated judicial ethics for hearing a case in which his girlfriend, Lisa Willardson, was the prosecutor. Willardson was found dead in her home the same day the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline issued their ruling. The coroner has yet to release Willardson's cause of death. Her body was discovered by Jones.

Jones will hear his punishment from the ethics commission later this month.

Jones is also facing a separate federal indictment over his alleged involvement in a multi-million dollar investment fraud scheme. It was that indictment that caused Jones' suspension from the bench.
