Crews rescue people trapped by swift water

NORTH LAS VEGAS - The swift water rescue of two people took place in North Las Vegas at the Carey Belmont Wash Tuesday, according to North Las Vegas Fire and Rescue.

The rescue happened in the 3300 block of Carey Avenue near Pecos Road. The two people became trapped in the wash when rain caused the water to rise.

Henderson Fire Department also rescued a man from a flooded wash near Eastern Avenue and St. Rose Parkway Tuesday morning.

Firefighters are asking people to stay away from flood channels.

The downpour broke a 116-day dry spell.
