Taxi driver arrested, accused of sexually assaulting female passenger

LAS VEGAS - Police say they have arrested a taxi driver for sexually assaulting a female passenger.

A woman contacted the Lucky Cab Company of Nevada on March 8th to report she left her phone in one of its vehicles, said investigators with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

During the investigation, management with the company reviewed surveillance video and found the driver, 25-year-old Abdul Based, sexually assaulted the woman while she was incapacitated, police said.

Management immediately alerted authorities about the incident.

Police took Based into custody on March 17th. He is being held at the Clark County Detention Center facing one count of sexual assault.
