Las Vegas-- A teen is in critical condition following a single car accident.

It happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday near Nellis Boulevard and Stanley Avenue. Witnesses told Metro Police that a Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Nellis, at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control and began sliding sideways.

It then struck a curb, drove up on the sidewalk and struck a power pole. The 18-year old driver sustained life-threatening injuries, and the other two passengers sustained only minor injuries. All three were taken to UMC.

It remains under investigation.
