Thanksgiving dinner held for 1 October survivors

LAS VEGAS - Nearly two months after the 1 October tragedy a group of survivors and first responder gathered together to give thanks for escaping the violence with their lives.

Survivor Stacie Armentrout helped organize a special Thanksgiving dinner Saturday night at the Henderson Convention Center.

Armentrout said she, her husband, and her two children were all there at the Route 91. As a survivor, she said Thanksgiving didn't feel the same this year.

"It felt very different, just very empty and lonely this year. I know that's the same sentiment for a lot of survivors, very, very different," Armentrout explained.

Armentrout expected more than 100 survivors and first responders to attend the dinner which she started planning in late October.

She hopes the dinner is a way to help the healing process.
