The search is on for solar eclipse glasses

LAS VEGAS - With supplies dwindling, how much would you pay to get your hands on a pair of solar eclipse glasses?

Online retailer Amazon still has glasses for sale on its website ranging from $35 for five pairs to $200 for a 20 pack.

If you order online, there's no guarantee your purchase will make it on time at this point. Even with one-day shipping, orders aren't expected to arrive until Monday.

By the time the delivery person gets to your home the eclipse may likely be over.

The College of Southern Nevada Planetarium opened its doors at 8:30 a.m. on Friday with 500 pairs of solar eclipse glasses for sale, but 8 News NOW received reports of people waiting in line for hours to get their hands on them.

But don't despair quite yet. The CSN Planetarium will have an additional 1,500 glasses available during its eclipse viewing party on Monday for $2 each. There will be strict limits on how many each person can buy.

On Saturday, the Gibson Library in Henderson is holding a Sun Party from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be 300 pairs of eclipse glasses available.

The Paseo Verde Library in Henderson is holding an Eclipse Party of Preschoolers on Monday at 10:00 a.m. and employees will be giving out eclipse glasses to families.
