Thieves Steal Plaques from Valley Parks

LAS VEGAS -- Thieves have stolen commemorative plaques from eight parks in the west Las Vegas valley.

Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said plaques stolen from the county were made of bronze and brass and were stolen within the past week.

The county parks where the plaques were stolen are Frias, Desert Breeze, Lone Mountain, Mountain Crest, West Flamingo, Western Trails and Laurelwood.

The City of Las Vegas, meanwhile, reports one missing bronze dedication plaque at Cimarron Rose Park. The City's Detention & Enforcement Department is investigating.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
